Former England international Darren Bent believes Xherdan Shaqiri will leave Liverpool in the summer. Bent can not imagine that another Premier League club is looking for the Swiss.
Former striker (including Tottenham, Aston Villa) Darren Bent spoke to the British football portal “Football Insider” about the possible future of Xherdan Shaqiri. The twelve-time England international is not only certain that the 28-year-old Swiss will leave Liverpool, but will also not play in England from the summer.
«I don’t see him in the Premier League anymore. Whoever will sign him, I can only imagine that this club is not from England, »says Bent. «But of course he’ll end up at a good club. The only thing I can say about Shaqiri: He can do something. »
Shaqiri moved from Inter Milan to the island in the summer of 2015, played for Stoke City for three years before being taken over by Liverpool for just under 15 million euros in 2018. His contract with the “Reds” runs until 2023, but it is hard to imagine that Shaqiri is satisfied with his current role in the club. This season, the 80-time Nati player was only used for 256 minutes.
According to Football Insider, FC Sevilla are said to be very interested in Shaqiri. And AS Roma, which has always been associated with the Swiss, should think about the winger. In addition, the Russian club CSKA Moscow is said to have expressed interest in Shaqiri.
