A barometric low in the west tomorrow, accompanied by fronts, will move east and is expected to worsen the weather in most of the country from the early hours until midday on Saturday with heavy rain and thunderstorms, which will be accompanied by a high frequency of lightning and local hailstorms.
According to the EMY’s Emergency Weather Deterioration Bulletin, the intense phenomena that will start from the west will quickly spread to the central and northern mainland, the Sporades, Evia, the Cyclades and later to the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese.
The winds will be strong and will reach 7 and locally 8 Beaufort.

Tomorrow,
a. From the afternoon hours on the Ionian Islands, Epirus and western Sterea.
b. From late afternoon in Thessaly, eastern Sterea and Peloponnese (mainly in its western parts).
c. In the evening hours the phenomena will extend further east and will affect areas of central and eastern Macedonia (Pieria prefecture, Thessaloniki prefecture, Halkidiki prefecture as well as the sea-coastal areas of Serres prefecture and Kavala prefecture), eastern Sterea, the Sporades, Evia, the Cyclades and the islands of the eastern Aegean.
d. A gradual weakening of the phenomena is expected in the evening hours in the Ionian and the western continents.

a. Until the morning hours in Thessaly, the Sporades, areas of central and eastern Macedonia (Pieria prefecture, Thessaloniki prefecture, Halkidiki prefecture as well as the sea-coastal areas of Serres prefecture and Kavala prefecture), the islands of the eastern Aegean and in places eastern Sterea and Evia.
b. From early in the morning until noon in the Dodecanese.

The prognosis of Kallianos
According to the forecast of Yannis Kallianos, the phenomena will be more intense from noon on Friday until noon on Saturday, while he emphasizes that it is “a system which will affect from the west to the east and will sweep the whole country”.
“Friday night it will also rain in Attica, however, it does not seem that the water will be such that it will cause problems”, he underlined. “From Thessaloniki and further east, to Alexandroupolis, there is an increased possibility of flooding as the phenomena will have intensity and duration”, he pointed out.
According to Mr Kallianos, within this 24-hour period (Friday – Saturday noon) the islands of the eastern Aegean, Lemnos, Chios, Lesvos, Samos and Ikaria will receive large millimeters of rain.
Dangerous bad weather
Meteorologist Clearchos Marousakis noted that the bad weather that hit Italy today and Greece on Friday “will bring a lot of rain and a large volume of water especially to the west, central and north of the country”.
Speaking on Open TV, he noted that: “We have to be careful because this wave of bad weather is capable of creating a lot of problems.”
In Western and Northern Greece, a large drop in temperature is expected with thermometers recording single-digit temperatures with western Macedonia as a typical example, the temperature will start from 3 degrees Celsius due to the northwest winds and the invasion of the cold air mass.
“A barometric low is expected to form near the Gulf of Genoa and as it will move eastward it will affect Italy tomorrow Thursday, while on Friday it will sweep our country from west to east giving locally intense and dangerous weather phenomena, says Klearchos Marousakis.
