Latvian Rapper Mazirbe’s New Album ‘One Against All’ Takes Hip-Hop in a Bold New Direction

“One against all” is completely different from the previous release “Pāķis frītsoli”, which featured several experiments and various collaborations. The sound of the new album is much more unified and the recording, in Mazirbe’s vision, creates an “emotional journey” with his sound. Starts with an introduction, builds up to a conclusion and ends with a light finish.

Although a small dose of irony can be heard throughout the lines, “One Against All” is serious nonetheless records with heavy sound and real emotions.

The album is influenced by German hip-hop, which has always inspired Mazirbi. “One against all” aims to stand out in Latvian hip-hop with its aggressiveness and directness.

“This is not a typical Latvian “come with us and be happy” hip-hop release to play at house parties. But it sure feels good when you’re driving alone on a long trip or “spouting” at the gym,”
