While primary and secondary school teachers affiliated with the CSQ accepted the government’s sectoral offers on Tuesday, other education trades are maintaining their leverage in the negotiations of their employment contracts.
Several union members in the public sector will exercise their right to strike on Wednesday and in the days to come after 18 months of negotiations which did not lead to agreements.
Classes will be suspended Wednesday morning in all primary schools on the Islands due to the strike by education professionals.
However, classes will resume in the afternoon in the Iris, St-Pierre and Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur schools, while classes will remain suspended in the afternoon in the Central and Stella-Maris schools due to ” an educational leave registered in the school calendar.

Childcare services will be open tomorrow for all establishments from 12.15 p.m.
School transportation will follow the usual lunchtime schedule for students who have lessons, but will not be available only for daycare services.
In secondary school, classes will be suspended for the whole day.

In addition, support staff affiliated with the CSN has already announced a strike notice for Wednesday, May 26, while support staff, affiliated with the CSQ this time, for their part, announced a half-day strike on May 3. June.
The School Services Center will soon communicate the impact on school days, while waiting to see if things evolve at the negotiation tables.
