According to the latest data published by Public Health France, 175 people with Covid-19 are hospitalized in Yonne, this Sunday, March 21, 2021 (there were five new hospitalizations this weekend). Among the patients, eleven are treated in intensive care.
Two new deaths linked to the virus have been identified in hospitals in the department (one Saturday, one Sunday), bringing the number of victims who have died in hospital to 426 since the start of the epidemic. To this assessment can be added the 243 people who contracted the virus who died in nursing homes in Yonne, according to data published on Friday March 19.

In the department, the incidence rate stood at 301 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, over the week of March 9 to 15. An indicator higher than the national average (266) and the regional rate (216), the alert threshold being set at 50.
According to the latest figures published by Public Health France on March 19, 28,111 people received a first injection of the Covid-19 vaccine in the department (269,437 in total in the region).
Nearly 4,000 hospital deaths in the region
In Bourgogne Franche-Comté, 1,143 hospitalizations linked to the virus were recorded on Sunday, March 21, 2021 (69 admissions during the weekend), including 155 in intensive care. Seventeen additional deaths in hospital have been recorded in the last 48 hours, bringing the number of victims of the epidemic to 3,998 since March 1, 2020. At the same time, 2,253 people with Covid-19 have died in the Regional nursing homes.
