Services for education and participation for children, adolescents and young adults provision / Wittmund district

As of 01.01.2011, the benefits of the education and participation package are generally available to children, adolescents and young adults in households that receive social assistance under SGB II, SGB XII, benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (AsylbLG), housing benefits under the Housing Benefits Act (WoGG) or Child allowance can be granted according to the BKGG.
Applications for benefit recipients according to SGB II must be submitted to the Wittmund Job Center. The other beneficiaries apply for the needs at the social and youth welfare office of the Wittmund district.

If you do not receive any of the aforementioned services, you can, if necessary, apply for funding from the project “To be there” put.

The following services can be requested:

  • School trips and multi-day class trips for schoolchildren as well as for children attending a day-care center,
  • School supplies (Learning materials) for school pupils
  • School transport costs for schoolchildren
  • Learning support for schoolchildren
  • Allowance for lunch for schoolchildren and children attending a day-care center
  • Participation in social and cultural life for children and adolescents up to the age of 18

The services are usually provided as vouchers or direct payments to the provider.

Applications for benefits for education and participation for recipients of unemployment benefit II are processed by the job center.

If you receive housing benefit, child allowance, asylum seeker benefits or benefits under SGB XII, contact the responsible clerk in the social welfare office.

The following documents must be attached to the fully completed and signed application:

  • Current notification of approval according to SGB II, SGB XII, WoGG, BKGG
  • Documents justifying the application (e.g. bank statements, requests for payment, receipts, letters from the school / day-care center)

Schools and day-care centers should also contact the responsible authorities if they want to participate in the educational package.

Teachers and educators play an important role in the education and participation package: They know the strengths and weaknesses of the students particularly well and can give parents tips on which offers are useful for the individual child.

Schools are particularly in demand when it comes to tutoring: parents can only apply for tutoring from the educational package if they confirm that a student has not achieved the learning goal.
