Semarang Flood, elevated railway

SEMARANG, KOMPAS.TV – To restore Tawang station to Alastua station, Semarang city which was flooded, PT KAI raised the railway tracks one kilometer near Kaligawe crossing, Semarang city. This effort has been made to anticipate whether the floods will recur.

Earlier, the flood flooded the railway tracks and disrupted all train travel schedules at Tawang Station in Semarang city.

“There is a route elevation between Alastua and Semarang Tawang at one kilometer near the Kaligawe 05 junction,” said Ixfan Hendri Wintoko, public relations manager of KAI Daop IV Semarang.

Meanwhile, more than 5,000 customers have had their train tickets canceled due to the floods. As a form of customer compensation, PT KAI provides 100% refunds for affected customers, and cancellations of train tickets can be made up to seven days after the departure indicated on the ticket.
