The Webb Telescope, which reached its target on January 25 and completed the opening process, took a selfie by using its special lens to capture the introverted image of the primary mirror.
Commenting on Webb’s selfie, NASA said, “What you’re seeing is the actual primary mirror of Webb observing a bright star, which was the engineering target. All the mirror segments see the starlight, but the bright segment is bright because from the NIRCam (near-infrared camera) field of view, the segment is directly aligned with the star.”

ABD It was stated that the telescope, an international partnership between the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA), ESA and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), is designed to answer questions about the universe and make groundbreaking discoveries in all fields of astronomy.
According to information shared from NASA, the telescope takes its name from James E. Webb, NASA’s second administrator and known for pioneering Apollo.
