Disclosed data this Sunday, in the daily epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), reveal that there are 222 Portuguese municipalities with at least three confirmed cases of Covid-19.

The data released by the DGS, this Sunday, does not present any new location with confirmed cases of infection. At least 42 municipalities have seen an increase in the number of infected people in the past 24 hours.

Like Saturday, Sintra is the municipality with the highest increase in new confirmed cases, registering 17 contagions that add up to a total of 762 confirmed cases in the locality. Then Lisbon (+11), Ovar (+11), Lousada (+10) and Seixal (+10).

Lisbon occupies the top of the table with a total of 1,735 infected with the new coronavirus, followed by Vila Nova de Gaia (1,453), Porto (1,300) and Matosinhos (1,204).

Of the 222 municipalities with at least 3 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 180 did not register an increase in the number of infected people compared to the previous day.

Knowing that the accounting will not be relative to the total number of cases – nor will it simultaneously monitor the data reported by the municipalities – DGS chose to provide only data from SINAVE, the national epidemiological surveillance system.

O daily bulletin from the Directorate-General for Health shows that Portugal registers 1,135 dead (another nine dead in 24 hours) and 27,581 infected (another 175) by the new coronavirus.

The Centro region and the Alentejo have not reported new cases in the last 24 hours.

The report reveals that 2,549 patients recovered from the disease (another 50).

Regarding hospitalized persons, the numbers registered 797 hospitalized people (minus 18), of which 112 were in intensive care (minus eight).

There are 26,344 people registered under surveillance by the authorities.

During the press conference, the Minister of Health said that since March, 532 thousand more tests have been carried out on Covid-19: 15% in March, 65% in April and more than 20% in May. Marta Temido also revealed that on May 5, 6 and 7 an average of 15,000 tests were performed per day.

Currently, the lethality rate is 4.4% for the country and 15.1% for individuals over 70 years of age.

The North region is the one with the highest number of deaths (648), followed by the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (243), the Center (216), the Algarve (13), the Azores (135) and the Alentejo that record a case, the epidemiological situation report says, with data updated until midnight on Friday, keeping the Autonomous Region of Madeira without registering deaths.
