A major fire broke out this Thursday morning at the Dodewaard nuclear power plant in the Netherlands. Rescue services are mobilized en masse on the spot.
According to information reported by our colleagues from Het Laatste Nieuws, the fire started on the roof of the plant. A spokesman for local authorities said gas cylinders could be near the flames.
Authorities are calling on people to stay away from the fire. Residents, especially those who can not tolerate smoke, are asked to close their doors and windows and turn off their air conditioning.
As of yet, the causes of the fire are still unknown.
