New control operation this Friday evening for the Thionville gendarmerie company. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., as part of an action taking place at the departmental level, the soldiers positioned themselves at three checkpoints at the Luxembourg border.
The objective: to control compliance with the confinement instructions at the level of traffic flows at the border.

Sixteen fines
During these two hours, 165 vehicles were checked and the certificates of 205 people verified. In all, 16 fines of 135 € for lack of a derogatory travel certificate were drawn up.
A figure which, according to the police, suggests that “overall, it is possible to observe that the population respects the need to have a certificate with them”. To this, other common law offenses were also noted: lack of technical control, smooth tires, alcohol level, narcotics …
On the spot, thirty soldiers were mobilized with, in their ranks, reinforcements from the motorized brigade (BMO) of Hayange and the mobile gendarmerie squadron of Thionville. On one point, the gendarmes also received reinforcement from a member of the municipal police.
