Senator Romney is the only Republican to vote for President Trump’s impeachment. He justifies this with Trump’s “horrific abuse of public trust”. Its response follows promptly.
US President Donald Trump sharply attacked Republican Senator Mitt Romney after he was voted to impeachment. Trump posted a video that said, among other things, that Romney was a “secret agent” of the Democrats. By presenting himself as a Republican, he tried to infiltrate the Trump administration as a foreign minister. “Mitt Romney fooled us,” the video also says.
Romney had voted for Trump’s impeachment and was the only Republican to support Trump’s impeachment. In the run-up, he described the decision as the hardest of his life and stated that he would expect verbal abuse from Trump and his followers in response.
Trump is guilty of “horrific abuse of public trust,” Romney said. Because of the Republican majority in the Senate, Trump was acquitted of both charges – abuse of power and interference with the Congressional investigation.
