The member of Sabhara Polres Cianjur suffered a wound on the back of his head.
Head of Cianjur Police, AKBP Mochamad Rifai, in Cianjur on Sunday (16/8), said that during the incident the victim, in full uniform, was trying to curb the motorized mob that was recklessly passing despite the heavy traffic conditions, because the route to Puncak-Cipanas was closed.
However, the mob did not heed the officers’ warnings.
“Our members gave a warning. But they were not heeded, so the members took action to push the gang aside. However, unexpectedly, some people immediately fired sharp weapons,” he said.
The victim did not have time to escape, so he was injured on the back of his head.
Rifai said that other police officers who knew about this immediately took the victim to Cianjur Hospital for medical assistance.
“The victim is still in a conscious state and has received medical assistance at the Cianjur Hospital, for the wound has been stitched up,” he also said.
