Second defeat for Dijon, winning returns for Chalon-sur-Saône and Orléans

For the second time this season, Dijon lost in the league on the occasion of his trip to Cholet. Chalon-sur-Saône got the better of Châlons-Reims while Orléans dominated Pau-Lacq-Orthez.

Absent from the prosecution of Jeep Elite since his setback on the floor of ASVEL on November 8, Orléans regained the ordinary of the championship with a home victory against Pau-Lacq-Orthez. While the Béarnais got off to the best start, the Loiret players came back little by little to conclude the first quarter with a margin of just one point. Led by LaMonte Ulmer (31 points, 5 rebounds), the OLB notably signed a 9-0 in the second quarter to widen a small gap on the return to the locker room. On their way, the Orléanais continued their march forward to count up to 18 points ahead in the heart of the third quarter. It was not until the end of the game to see a reaction from teammates Justin Bibbins (18 points), returned to six lengths, but the damage was already done. Orléans won by ten lengths (85-75) and balanced its record when Elan Béarnais had a third straight setback in a Jeep Elite.

Chalon-sur-Saône is smiling again

Two months is the time that Elan Chalon spent without playing a championship game. Beaten in Monaco on October 17, Julien Espinosa’s players had ants in their legs and it was Châlons-Reims who paid the price. Solid at the start of the match, the Champenois gradually weakened and Sean Armand’s teammates (16 points, 5 rebounds) took advantage of a one-sided second quarter, leaving only seven points in Châlons-Reims, to take a lead of sixteen lengths at half-time. Elan Chalon did not relax his grip on the match, approaching a 30-point lead at the very end of the third quarter, but the tide turned at the end of the match. Thanks to 22 points from Dominique Archie and 20 units from Jalen Adams, Châlons-Reims gave everything in attack (32 points scored) and tightened the game in defense (14 points conceded) to return to less than ten points without ever returning completely the meaning of the match. Chalon-sur-Saône wins by nine points (78-87) and goes back to 14th place while the Champenois remain in the red zone with this sixth setback in seven games.

Cholet surprises Dijon

After starting the season strong with five consecutive victories, Dijon is not helped by a disputed championship. A month after conceding its first defeat of the season in Monaco, the JDA missed its trip to the floor of Cholet, which resumed the championship after two months of forced break and one month after its last outing in the Champions League. It was not until the second quarter to see the Choletais widen the first gap of ten points and see in the wake of the Dijon pick up at five lengths. If the teammates of Gerry Blakes (24 points, 5 rebounds) kept their hands on the scoreboard, the pressure never subsided. But, unfortunately for Alexandre Chassang (23 points) and his teammates, the last ten minutes were indeed Choletaise. A 9-0 entry into the last quarter set the tone with a gap that rarely fell below ten points. At the buzzer, Cholet won by ten points (83-73) and climbed to 13th rank. For Dijon, the podium is no longer on the agenda.
