SDG3. Mango raises funds for breast cancer research

Mango and the FERO Foundation join forces for another year to fight against breast cancer. The fashion firm launches a solidarity collection of garments and accessories, the profits of which will be donated in full to the foundation, for research of this disease. This release coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is celebrated in October, and with the International Day against Breast Cancer, on October 19.

Mango’s solidarity collection It is now available in the online channel and in a selection of stores in around twenty countries, among which Spain, France and Italy stand out. It is made up of three T-shirts with different designs, two bags and a toiletry bag from the Woman line, as well as two T-shirts from the Man line. Both the garments and accessories are characterized by showing messages of strength and hope.

The solidarity collection launched by the multinational last year managed to raise more than € 175,000, which were entirely intended to advance cancer research.

The collaboration between Mango and the FERO Foundation dates back to 2008, when sisters Penelope and Mónica Cruz Together with the fashion firm, they designed a t-shirt to cooperate in the fight against Breast Cancer. In 2010 and 2011, Mango marketed a T-shirt designed by Jordi Labanda in collaboration with the Foundation. And since 2017, both entities collaborate with the launch of an annual collection to raise funds for Breast Cancer research. During this time, among other initiatives, it has allowed the creation of the call for a FERO-Mango Scholarship on breast cancer, which boosts the career of young researchers in this field and which this year will launch its third edition. The winners will be announced at the charity gala organized by FERO in Madrid on November 15.
