The 31-year-old woman died after falling from the hill “Arthur’s Seat” in Edinburgh. according to BBC Police have now arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the death.
Police moved out to the hill on Thursday night, after reports that a woman in her 30s had fallen from the popular hiking area.
The woman died shortly after the fall.
On Friday, the police in Scotland were able to confirm that they regard the death as suspicious, and have arrested the 27-year-old in connection with the accident.
Arthur’s Seat is located in Holyrood Park, a popular royal park in the center of Edinburgh. The park is open to everyone and a famous excursion site, but not without its dangers.
Already earlier this summer, there was another accident on the hill, where a man in his 40s died.
The police state that they have started a broad investigation of the accident with the 31-year-old woman.
It is not known what role the police believe the 27-year-old man played in the woman’s death, nor how he reacts to the arrest.
