School newspapers: Berlin’s best school newspapers of the year have been announced – Presseportal

We were looking for the best school newspapers and articles for 2021 in a total of six school categories. The jury from the Berlin Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family, Junge Presse Berlin, jup! and Tagesspiegel selected the following publications for the top spots:

elementary schools:

1. “FriedeNOW” (Friedenauer community school)
2. “Karlchen” (Karlsgarten School)
3. “Liebigbox” (Justus von Liebig Elementary School)

community schools:

1. “Fürst news” (Paula Fürst Community School)
2. “Verbal” (Wilhelm von Humboldt Community School)

special schools:

1. “Eschke’s Insights” (Ernst Adolf Eschke School)
2. “SchulZ” (Finkenkrug school)
3. “Raging Courier” (Sancta Maria School of the Hedwig Sisters)

Integrated secondary schools:

1. “Full Pot” (Reinhold Burger School)

Upper level centers for vocational schools:

1. “Anna Freud Culture” (Anna Freud School)

high schools:

1. “Moron” (Carl von Ossietzky High School)
2. “OHnE” (Heinz-Berggruen High School)
3. “The Dog” (Canisius-Kolleg)

The award ceremony is expected to take place as a hybrid event at the end of March. In this context, the main prizes awarded by the Senate Education Administration, various special prizes (“Europe is here!”, “Berlin Theater in View”, “Great climate at school lunches?!” and “How do you treat each other?”), as well as the extra prizes of the daily mirror.

For the school newspaper competition:

It is a cooperation project between the Junge Presse Berlin, the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family, the jup! Berlin and the Tagesspiegel. The aim of the initiative is to reward and promote the commitment of young people to media work. As in the previous year, the Tagesspiegel is providing editorial support for the competition and is making non-cash prizes available.
