School Holidays Extended to May 11, This Is The Reason

School holidays extended in a number of areas until Wednesday (11/5/2022). This implementation is called the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) as an effort to unravel the traffic jam back and forth for Lebaran 2022.

In connection with this, the extension of the school holidays will apply in DKI Jakarta, West Java (Jabar), and Banten for three days with the school entry schedule starting Thursday (12/5/2022). Previously, the school entry date after Lebaran 2022 was scheduled for Monday (9/5/2022).

According to Anang, his party has coordinated with the provincial governments of DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten. “Furthermore, the provincial government has coordinated with the district/city governments in their respective regions. This decision will be socialized by the regional government to be implemented properly,” he explained.

Extended School Holidays at What Level?

Head of the Bekasi City Education Office (Disdik) Inayatulah mentioned the extension school holidays applies at all levels of education. This was done in accordance with an appeal from the head of the service throughout West Java.

The Head of the Banten Education and Culture Office, Tabrani, agreed that teaching and learning activities for elementary, junior high, high school and vocational school in Banten only started on Thursday (12/5/2022). The following is also the decision from the DKI Jakarta Education Office which apparently has set a school holiday for Eid 2022 until Wednesday (11/5/2022) from the start according to notification letter number: 13504/-1.851.
