The national union suspended Mangio on Tuesday as it launched an investigation. The reasons were not given and the 48-year-old coach strongly opposed the information in the media.

“I have never committed inappropriate behavior against the personal or sexual dignity of anyone, and certainly not of the players or the unions,” the former Palermo manager or the 21-year-old Italian said in a statement.

“I had to respond to what appeared in the media about me. It is all groundless and false news that damages not only my dignity but also my professional reputation,” added Mangia.
