Chris Rock came to the stage to present the Oscar for Best Documentary and joked about Will Smith’s wife, Jade Pinkett Smith, who looked like Demi Moore with the shaved head of the war drama “GI Jane” in 1997. Jade Pinket Smith also has a shaved head.
The hand said to Jade Pinkette in the hall, and shortly after the joke, Will Smith stepped on the stage and punched Rock in the face, then shouted, “Don’t let my wife’s name be uttered with your damn mouth!” Jade Pinkett Smith suffers from alopecia, a disease characterized by hair loss, so she walks with her shaved head.
Social networks have already been flown by a photo collage with the faces of celebrities sitting in the hall at the time of the incident, but Rock got out of the situation with another joke: “This was the most powerful night in the history of television!”
According to Variety, several actors have approached Smith during the break of the awards ceremony, including Denzel Washington, Bradley Cooper and Oscar producer Will Pecker.
After a while, Smith himself took the stage, winning an Oscar for his performance in The Winners’ Family, where he played Richard the father of tennis star William. In his speech, Smith said that Richard was also a defender of his family and apologized to those present for his actions.
