In recent days, staff of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Salernoduring the intensification of the economic control activities of the territory aimed at combating illicit trafficking, they arrested a subject originally from Annunziata Toweralready burdened by specific criminal records, as he was found in possession of property 40 kg of processed tobacco smuggled foreign countries.
In particular, the soldiers of the Company of Scafati on economic control duty in the territory they proceeded to check a car whose driver showed obvious signs of nervousness. The Fiamme Gialle then further investigated and found, inside the trunk of the car, multiple boxes containing 200 cartons of tobacco without seals of the State Monopoly and on which the warnings for the health risks deriving from the use of tobacco were only present in a foreign language.
The Financiers, therefore, after having extended the search at the individual’s home, located in the Municipality of Scafati, proceeded to arrest the individual and seize the 40 kg of contraband cigarettes, together with the car used for transport. In the very direct judgement, the Judge of the Court of Lower Nocera validated the arrest carried out by the Financiers and applied the precautionary measure of the residence ban in the Municipality of Scafati.
