Saudi Government Mandates Use of Tarasul Service for Data Exchange and Communication

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority has instructed government and private organizations to exchange ideas with individuals through Tarasul service in Jeddah-Tawakalna and to officially consider the information and data exchanged in this way. The action is taken considering the fact that Tavakalna is a government-owned electronic media under the authority. Notices and instructions issued by Tarasul shall be treated as other documents approved by the Government accordingly. In order to use the Tarasul service, the service must be linked to the identity cards of the individuals. Government departments using the service must enter into an agreement with Saudi AI to ensure their quality of service. Prior to using the Tarasul Service, specific consent for communications and documentation through Tarasul must be obtained from the customer and the customer must be free to withdraw from the decision. Government departments should contact consumers through Tarasul as well as through alternative channels to ensure that individuals have received notices and notifications. Customers should be able to remove notices and reports after reading them. The proposal states that the government institutions should not pay any special fees for using the service and should report the progress of Tarazul usage to the Saudi cabinet.
