Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Yemeni counterpart Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak discussed the repercussions of the “Houthi” terrorist attacks on the Hadhramaut and Shabwa oil ports and their impact on the security and stability the region, international shipping and the security of energy supplies, which represent a serious threat, aggravate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan renewed the Kingdom’s condemnation of this terrorist attack, which is a blatant violation of Resolution No. 2216 of the Security Council and an indication of a dangerous escalation by the “Houthi” terrorist militia, undermining the efforts of the peace process and threatening the security of the region, according to the Yemeni news agency “Saba”. He affirmed the firm and united position of the Kingdom for all that guarantees the security and stability of Yemen and fulfills the aspirations of its people.
For his part, bin Mubarak reiterated the Yemeni government’s welcome to the appeal of the Council of Ministers in the fraternal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to classify the “Houthi” militias as a global terrorist group, boycott them and drain their sources of funding. .
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of pooling efforts and joint action in international forums to address these terrorist acts and expose the “Houthi” crimes they are committing against the Yemeni people and their economic capabilities and their threat. to security and peace in the region, and to take a firm international stand on this irresponsible behavior and to work to classify it as a global terrorist group.
This comes as a wave of widespread regional and international condemnation continues last Friday of the terrorist attack launched by the criminal militia “Houthi” on the oil port of Al-Daba, as Western experts and analysts have warned that this attack is fueling chaos. ‘escalation in Yemen, as the coup gang has made intense efforts, aimed at renewing the validity of the armistice in its territory, after the second of this month has expired.
Experts confirmed that the attack, carried out by two drones, which targeted a South Korean oil tanker while it was anchored near the port of Hadramout, raises greater concerns about the possibility of a resumption of large-scale fighting in Yemen, in light of the continuation of the current state of “truce and no war”, following the expiration of the truce was a few weeks ago, but could not be renewed, due to the uncompromising Houthi positions.
In a clear indication of the escalation of aggressive practices of the “Houthi” terrorist militia since then and its insistence on obstructing attempts to re-establish the truce, analysts stressed that “there is no tangible will on the horizon, to take a first step towards strengthening efforts to bring peace and stability to Yemen. ” After more than 8 years of bloody conflict, triggered by the bloody coup of the “Houthis” gang against the legitimate government of Sana’a.
In statements published by the Anti-War website, analysts concerned about Yemeni affairs highlighted the decisions made by the National Defense Council, which is the highest military and security authority in the legitimate Yemeni government, in the wake of the Dhaba attack. and included the designation “Al-Houthi” as a terrorist organization, in conjunction with the council’s warnings. One consequence of the recent aggressive escalation of the coup militias, which also included an attack on al-Nashima port in Shabwa governorate.
At the same time, however, analysts highlighted the failure of the “Houthi” clan’s desperate attempts to target the resources of the Yemeni state, in light of the announcement by local authorities in Hadramawt that the two planes through which the Dhaba the attack was carried out were intercepted and destroyed, without conducting the attack, due to material or human losses.
The decision of the Yemeni National Defense Council coincided with the confirmation of international navigation sources that satellite images taken the day after the terrorist attack showed that the oil tanker targeted by the “Houthis” managed to sail safely away from the coast. Yemenites, without driving, attacking her, interrupting her previously scheduled flight.
Western analysts say that, despite the fragility of the situation to a large extent on the Yemeni arena, there is still hope that the aftermath of the recent “Houthi” attacks will be contained and prevent them from starting to slip back into the cycle of warfare, especially after the formation of the truce, whose implementation began on April 2 and has since been extended twice, is a rare period of calm enjoyed by the Yemenis, after bloody years that left their country prey to the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, and claimed the lives of nearly 400,000 of their citizens.
