46 people were registered to donate bone marrow in the framework of the campaign “San Francisco to the core” which took place last Saturday at the Club Sportivo Belgrano facilities.
The conference organized by Red Solidaria San Francisco and Hemocen, together with the leadership of the Green club, had had 62 pre-registered people, but due to various situations, the total number of donors was 46.
“It is a very good number,” said the head of the local network, Marcelo Valverde, who added: “Up to a maximum of 60 people could be attended and 62 were pre-registered, but it happened that several people had their turn to vaccinate against the Covid for that Saturday, about seven were rejected because they had been vaccinated 48 hours before. But for us it means a significant amount of donors ”.
And he later remarked that “this speaks of a city’s commitment to a campaign through which lives can be saved.” According to Valverde, the operation also served to “verify that there are many people willing to help others and at the same time, so that doubts and some fears can be answered through all kinds of questions. “
And he pointed out that the campaign seeks that the solidary behavior of the neighbors is sustained over time, “that people can donate blood two or three times a year as a custom, that fear is removed,” he closed.
