Sarah Lombardi almost thunders on the floor

“Free ESC”

During the ESC replacement show on ProSieben, a small stage mishap happened to the German singer. But things turned out lightly.

  • This year’s Eurovision Song Contest was canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic, instead substitute shows were held on ProSieben and ARD.
  • Sarah Lombardi appeared on the Proieben show “Free Eurovision Song Contest” for Italy and presented her new single “Te Amo Mi Amor”.
  • The performance included a lifting figure. This was shaky and Sarah almost fell.

At the ProSieben replacement show for the canceled Eurovision Song Contest, German singer Sarah Lombardi (27), who has Italian roots on her mother’s side, represented the country of Italy. Among other things, she fought against the Austrian “Cordula Grün” singer Josh (33) and half-Croatian Vanessa Mai (28).

At the “Free Eurovision Song Contest”, the former DSDS finalist performed her new single “Te Amo Mi Amor” for the first time. Also there was the figure skater Joti Polizoakis (24), with whom she won the “Dancing on Ice” show last year. At the end of their «Free ESC» appearance, the two wanted to inspire with a lifting figure – but it went wrong.

Sarah almost falls off

The popping up is a bit shaky. When Joti turns in a circle, Sarah tilts forward and almost falls to the ground. In response, she clings to her thighs, which in turn causes Joti’s head to be stuck briefly when he tries to let her down.

However, the singer takes it with humor: you can hear her having to suppress laughter after the breakdown. On Twitter people comment on things like “How the dancer almost dropped Sarah. Well, at least she had to laugh at it »or« Sarah Lombardi just screwed up a figure ».

Nico Santos wins

After all, it wasn’t enough for the win. Pop singer Nico Santos (27) scored the most points. He started for Spain and performed a partly Spanish version of his hit “Like I Love You”.

Second and third place went to llse DeLange (43) for the Netherlands and Max Mutze (38), who dressed as an astronaut for the moon. The ProSieben show, which was co-organized by Stefan Raab (53), was moderated by Steven Gätjen (47) and Conchita Wurst (31), the Austrian ESC winner from 2014.

The ARC ESC replacement program meanwhile chose a “winner of the heart”: The Lithuanian dance rock group The Roop won the vote for themselves with their song “On Fire”.
