The Conservative British Royal Family is no stranger to scandals and controversy, and Sarah «Fergie» Ferguson (61) has accounted for several of them.
The outspoken Duchess of York has made countless headlines with a negative sign, and has on several occasions made herself unpopular.
Divorce is also relatively rare in the royal family, but the marriage between her and Prince Andrew (61), a highly controversial figure himself, ended in divorce in 1996. They had children Princess Beatrice (32) and Princess Eugenie (31).
Called “Duchess of Pork”: – A shame
– Worthless
Although she has created a lot of headaches for the royal family, she still has a seemingly good relationship with them. But in 2011 it became clear that she was not in the inner circle of Prince William (39) and Duchess Kate (39).
Then they gave each other their yes in a magnificent wedding royal worthy. But the Duchess of York was not to be seen – she was not on the guest list. It must be one of her several scandals that was the background.
– I was not invited. I went through a phase where I felt totally worthless and that it was absolutely right that they did not invite me, she stated in 2011.

The reason why the invitation did not materialize was that she promised what she thought was an Indian businessman “full access” to her ex-husband, for 4.5 million kroner.
However, it all turned out to be a journalist who filmed it all.
– I felt that I had exiled myself because of my behavior, because of the past and all my mistakes, she said then.

– I did not think I was worthy enough to come to the wedding. I actually went to Thailand, to be so far away from it that I could try to heal, she says.
In 2018, the stage was set again for a royal wedding when Prince Harry (36) and Duchess Meghan (39). This time with the Duchess of York present. She is asked by the magazine about the duke couple’s much talked about exit from the British royal house, but refuses to answer.

However, they write that she must have supported the TV host Piers Morgan when he thought that Meghan lied about racism in the royal house during the scandalous Oprah interview.
By the way, Fergie was not to be seen in either Prince Philip’s funeral earlier this year.
Good relationship with ex-husband
The Duchess of York has been in the media a lot over the years, and has been seen in “Friends”. Nevertheless, she has kept her innermost feelings well hidden from the outside world, and has, for example, talked little about the high-profile divorce.

A couple of years ago, however, she did so, describing her relationship with her ex-husband in very warm words.
– July 23, 1986 was the happiest day of my life, she told of the day she married the prince and was granted the Duchy of York.
– Andrew is the best man I know. What he does for Britain is fantastic; No one knows how hard he works for his country. (…) I’m so proud of him. I stand by his side and will always do so. The way we are is our adventure, and even though we are not a couple, we have great faith in each other, she said openly in the interview with Daily Mail.
