– There have been a number of house searches in connection with this operation. But I can’t go into details about seizures, says Fredrik Hultgren-Friberg, press spokesperson at Säpo, at around 8:30 p.m.

Säpo: Links to IS

Adam Isaksson Samara says that they have acted against a group of individuals who exist within the violent Islamist and extremist environment.

– We see that there are international connections to IS, the terrorist organization Islamic State. We also see that there are links to serious organized crime.

What does the latter connection look like?

– I cannot go into it in detail. We can state that this is something that we have seen in our investigation and intelligence work that this violent Islamist extremist group also has links to serious organized crime.

Gunnar Strömmer: Planned for a long time

Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) speaks P4 Stockholm that the effort must be seen in the light of the increased terrorist threat.

– It confirms that Sweden has a high terrorist threat, he tells the channel, but does not want to say more about the operation other than that it has been planned for a long time.
