Airbus urged Europe not to block titanium imports from Russia, saying that sanctions on the strategic metal would harm the aerospace industry but would hardly harm the Russian economy.

Russia is the largest titanium producer in the world. The EU has so far avoided a ban on Russian goods other than steel and coal. Airbus is accelerating its search for alternative supplies in the long term, Faury said.
