San José students will return to classes under extreme sanitary measures – Telemundo Bay Area 48

Thousands of San Jose Unified School District students are about to return to classrooms. But they will do it under very strict precautionary measures to avoid contagion of Covid-19 among students.

The classrooms of 41 campuses are being disinfected and both teachers and students are ready to resume their education in person, but they will have to do so with extreme precautionary sanitary measures.

They should wear the mask, wash their hands and keep their distance when it can be assured Katie Rodríguez, spokeswoman for the San José Unified School District.

Students and teachers must wear masks indoors and outdoors, and they must also comply with three feet of distance.

They can remove the mask only when they are eating or drinking. Besides, they must wear them all the time when they are in schools, even when they are in the district or in a meeting they are required to wear face masks.

They assure that 90% of their more or less 3,500 employees and contractors are already vaccinated but most of the children are not, as they are not yet eligible, so they will have to use it all day, even for their physical education classes.

Some parents, although they know that these measures are necessary, have doubts if this task can be achieved since as they are children, they do not support their use all the time.

The San Jose Unified School District will follow the LOS CDC guidelines and will ask teachers who do not have the vaccine to be constantly tested.
