From September 7, Samsung will make The Sero television available in the Netherlands, for an amount of 1700 euros. The TV with 4k resolution is specially aimed at smartphone use and can easily be placed in portrait mode, for example.
Samsung revealed The Sero more than a year ago but now reports the start of sales for the Dutch market. The most striking feature of the 43 ” television is that it can be tilted from a horizontal to a vertical position and back. This should make the TV suitable for displaying images from smartphones such as holiday videos shot vertically.
To connect Galaxy smartphones to the TV, user can tap their device against it. Android smartphones must have the SmartThings app from Samsung for the combination with the TV. The resolution of the device is 3840×2160 pixels. As for HDR playback, HDR 10+ and HDL are supported, although it is not clear from the specifications what the maximum brightness is.
The Sero also includes a 4.1-channel 60W speaker, three HDMI interfaces, and two USB ports. An Ethernet port is not present, but the TV supports wireless connections via 802.11ac or WiFi 5, and Bluetooth 4.2.
