Samsung will release its Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G on August 21. The new top model again gets the Exynos 990-soc and a 120Hz OLED screen. The highest refresh rate does not work at the maximum resolution. The S Pen has been improved and is more responsive.
Of Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G has a 5g modem and antennas for both high and low frequency networks. The device also has support for mmWave, although there are no networks in the Netherlands and Belgium that use it. Samsung delivers the Note 20 Ultra again with an S Pen and the delay between touches and actions on the screen is now 9ms according to the manufacturer. With the Note 10+ that was still 42ms.
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a 6.9 “OLED screen with a 20: 9 ratio and thin edges. The screen curls over the edges, making the screen edges appear even thinner. The maximum resolution is 3200×1440 pixels and the screen has a refresh rate up to 120Hz As with the S20 Ultra, this does not work with the highest resolution.
The rear camera island houses a similar camera setup to that of the S20 Ultra, but without a depth sensor. The primary camera’s 108Mp sensor is believed to be the same as the S20 Ultra. It is again a sensor of 1 / 1.33 “, but Samsung has now also added laser autofocus. Furthermore, the Note 20 Ultra has a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and 12Mp sensor and an ultra-wide angle camera with also a 12Mp sensor.
In Europe, Samsung uses the Exynos 990-soc for its Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, while the US version gets a Snapdragon 865+. The soc is therefore unchanged in the Netherlands and Belgium compared to the devices in the S20 series. There is 12GB of LPDR5 memory in the top model and 256GB or 512GB of flash storage. There is also room for a micro-SD card.
There will also be one regular variant of the Galaxy Note 20which has a flat 6.7 “OLED screen, with a lower resolution of 2400×1800 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 60Hz. The regular Note 20 has 8GB ram and 256GB storage. The cameras are also less advanced; smaller sensors for The Note 20 comes in a 4G version, in addition to a more expensive 5G version.
Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 20 series on August 21. The top model costs 1299 euros for the version with 256GB flash storage. The 512GB variant has an extra cost of 100 euros. The 4g version of the Note 20 costs 949 euros and the 5g variant costs 1049 euros.
