Samsung Reaches the Highest Smartphone Market in South Korea

Jakarta

In the third quarter of 2020 smartphone sales Samsung reported a nearly 50% jump from quarter to quarter.

According to a new market research report from SamMobile the surge saw Samsung’s smartphone market share reach an all-time high in South Korea.

The report said Samsung achieved an all-time high 72.3% market share during the third quarter of 2020, which is the first time the company has crossed the 70% mark in the country.

Meanwhile, Apple and LG each account for less than 10% of the quarterly market share in South Korea.

Reported detiKINET from Android Central, Monday (16/11/2020) in 2020 Samsung expanded their mobile offering with a sizable upgrade to their existing lineup of foldable mobile devices.

The report suggests that the Note 20 series, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and Galaxy Z Fold 5G are playing an important role in the growth of the company’s sizeable market share.

On the other hand, analysts predict that there will be a decline in Samsung’s market share during the much more competitive fourth quarter of 2020, mainly due to the high demand from Apple’s newest series, the iPhone 12.

To overcome this, Samsung will be releasing the Galaxy S21 series earlier than usual on January 14, 202. Additionally with reports hinting that the Galaxy S1 series may start at a lower price and be bundled with additional accessories.
