Samsung launches Odyssey OLED G8 monitor with Gaming Hub; see price | Monitor

A Samsung announced, on Wednesday (18), the launch in Brazil of the new gamer monitor Odyssey OLED G8 which, as the name implies, has a panel OLED 34 inches in size. The new device has update rate 175 Hz and manages to reach the response time 0.1ms, plus a premium metal finish. The suggested price is R$ 11,999, with immediate availability in the brand’s online store and the promise of arriving “soon” in retail electronics.

The gamer monitor features the Neo Quantum processor, which has the function of analyzing each frame displayed by the OLED panel as a way of automatically optimizing quality, according to official disclosure. The Odyssey OLED G8 also features Ultra-WQHD technology, which tends to ensure a wider field of view for gaming, supporting the 21:9 screen ratio.

The model also offers Display technology. HDR True Black 400, which tends to display dark colors without light leakage, which can make the black color more faithful. In addition, it is worth mentioning that it comes with support for FreeSync Premium and AMDwhich may explain the reduction in response time.

To complete, it comes with support for voice assistants. Alexayes Amazone Bixby, from Samsung itself. This could allow the monitor to be configured to be the control center of a smart home, through the system Smart Things, which allows you to control lights, curtains, electronic products and TVs compatible with the internet of things. It also offers the system Samsung Gaming Hubfor streaming of games.

The Odyssey OLED G8 has free position adjustments, connection Wi-Fi and light set with Core Lighting+ technology, which promises easy configuration to adjust the colors according to the user’s setup. The lighting can be seen on the disc on the back of the product, as shown in the image above.

On the same occasion, Samsung also presented the Odyssey G30 monitor, a cheaper monitor, with a suggested price of R$ 1,519. The device has a 24-inch screen, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a response time of 1 ms, well above the previous model. It also has an ergonomic stand, which allows the user to freely rotate the display and adjust it, including height and tilt.
