Samsung formalizes its SSD 870 QVO. This succeeds the SSD 860 QVO launched in 2018. It still relies on a SATA III interface and embeds V-NAND QLC flash memory (4 bits per cell). However, it is available in a maximum capacity of 8 TB, against 4 TB for its predecessor.

The company thus offers models of 1, 2, 4 and 8 TB. It also highlights better sequential read and write speeds: up to 560 MB / s and 530 MB / s respectively.

TBW of 2880 TB for the 8 TB model
The 870 QVO also benefits from a 13% improvement in random reading speed compared to the 860 QVO according to Samsung. It reaches 98,000 / 88,000 IOPS in random read / write. In addition, the 8 TB version has a TBW of 2880 TB.
These SSD 870 QVO are marketed since yesterday from 129.99 dollars for the 1 TB version. The prices charged in France are not yet known. All versions are guaranteed for three years.
