Samsung is ending TV production in China

The cessation of TV production is in line with Samsung’s long-term plan to move production. Last year, the South Korean company announced the same step in the smartphone segment, and this year in August it announced the termination of computer production in China.

According to Jonhap, the TV factory in the Chinese city of Tianjin employs three hundred workers, and the factory’s doors should be definitively closed before the beginning of November. Although Samsung has not officially confirmed this, workers will most likely be fired.

A spokesman for the South Korean electronic giant, which by the way is the largest TV manufacturer in the world, said only stoically that the company is continuing “efforts to increase the efficiency of production activities.”

However, following the closure of the TV plant, Samsung will still have part of its production capacity in China, namely the home appliance plant in Suzhou and the semiconductor plant in Suzhou and Xi’an.
