KOMPAS.com – Samsung is believed to be preparing to launch the new Galaxy S23 FE (Fan Edition) smartphone. It seems that the “cheap” version of the flagship cellphone from the Galaxy S23 series will also be brought to the Indonesian market.
Indications are that the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE has been registered on the Postel SDPPI Kominfo certification page (Post and Telecommunications from the Directorate General of Post and Information Resources and Equipment, Ministry of Communication and Information).
KompasTekno monitoring, Tuesday (12/9/2023), the Samsung S23 FE is registered with certificate number 93449/SDPPI/2023. This certificate was submitted by PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia on September 11 2023.
In the certificate details, the device with the model number “SM-S711B” has the marketing name “Samsung S23 FE”.

The Directorate General of SDPPI Ministry of Communication and Information Postel Certificate is one of the requirements that vendors must fulfill before selling electronic devices in Indonesia. In other words, you could say, the Samsung S23 FE is ready to enter and be sold in Indonesia.
If accurate, the Galaxy S23 FE will be the successor to the Galaxy S21 FE which was marketed in Indonesia in January 2022. Last year, the Galaxy S22 did not have a Fan Edition version.
Before appearing on the Postel page, the presence of the Samsung S23 FE was detected from Samsung executive statements and support pages on the official Samsung website.
In early August, one Samsung executive indicated that the Galaxy S23 Fan Edition would be released soon.
It is believed that Samsung will not release the mid-range Galaxy A74 cellphone in 2023. In fact, the Galaxy A7x series cellphone is the highest model in the mid-range series and “one level” below the flagship Galaxy S series.

That’s why, in an interview, technology media Android Authority asked Justin Hume that there was a “gap (empty that could be filled by) the Galaxy FE between the Galaxy A54 5G and the Galaxy S23”.
Justin Hume also agreed to that question. “Now there’s a Galaxy FE gap there,” replied Justin Hume, Vice President of Samsung Mobile South Africa, before continuing to laugh.
“There will be an announcement later. Soon,” continued Justin Hume.
Justin Hume’s statement indicates that the void of the Galaxy A74 this year will likely be filled by the Galaxy S23 FE. Rumors circulating previously stated that the Samsung S23 FE would be sold to the global market in the fourth quarter (October-December) 2023 and the first quarter (January-March) 2024.
Then, at the end of August, a support page for the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE appeared on the official Samsung Kazakhstan website.
Samsung does not clearly state the name of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE device. Samsung only mentions the model number SM-S711B/DS. This device number is also exactly the same as that listed on the Postel page.

Leaked specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE have also been circulating on the internet.
This cheap version of the Galaxy S23 series cellphone is said to be powered by the Exynos 2200 chipset and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in a number of marketing areas. Not Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy like the Galaxy S23 series trio.

If it is true that the Samsung S23 FE will be released soon, this cellphone will be the successor to the Galaxy S21 FE which was released in 2022. Samsung will also name the Galaxy S22 FE.
However, it should be noted that the schedule and specifications above are only strong indications and their accuracy cannot be confirmed. Samsung has not yet confirmed the presence of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE.
