Samsung ends support for S Voice – Tablets and phones – News

Samsung is going to pull the plug from S Voice, the company has announced. S Voice was Samsung’s first voice assistant, but has not been further developed after the release of successor Bixby.

The discontinuation of support for S Voice has not been announced in a big way. SamMobile discovered that a notice has been posted on the Samsung India website that it can be concluded that as of 1 June S Voice will probably no longer function. According to the manufacturer, users will see an error message if they try to activate S Voice after that date.

Samsung has one on its website list put of smartphones and wearables that have to deal with the discontinuation of S Voice. The Korean manufacturer recommends users to upgrade to Bixby whenever possible. Smartwatches like the Gear S3 and Gear Sport will be updated to Bixby once S Voice is discontinued.

Nowadays, Samsung only uses its voice assistant Bixby for devices. This not only concerns smartphones, but also smart speakers and televisions. To stimulate use of the voice assistant came there is even a special Bixby button on some smartphones, but this has been criticized by the company.
