Director Joe Wright, known for his romantic drama film “Pride and Prejudice”, was the first participant in the campaign.

Samsung says Wright filmed “Princess & Peppernose” entirely using smartphone Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G by utilizing the 13mm Ultra-Wide lens.

The musical uses puppets and choreography live-action, tells the story of a princess who defies tradition in search of love. “My parents ran and founded the UK’s first dedicated puppet theater and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to get back to my roots. What struck me the most during this process was how quick and easy it was to just jump right in there and be present with the characters and the story. The camera is always ready, and all you have to do is aim and shoot,” Wright said in a press release.

After Wright’s film, Samsung said it would release works from other well-known directors from various countries, including director Sha Mo from China, known for “Love Will Tear Us Apart” and “My Huckleberry Friends”.

Sha Mo also used the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G to shoot his new film “Kids of Paradise” which revolves around the lives of children in a small rural school.

Samsung said “Princess & Peppernose” and “Kids of Paradise” will be launched at South Korea’s Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), which runs through Friday (15/10).
