Samsung and Moroccan Ministry launch 4th edition of Samsung Innovation Campus Program for digital education and innovation in Morocco

Samsung Electronics Morocco and the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports are proud to announce the launch of the 4th edition of the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program in Morocco. This renewed partnership marks Samsung’s continued commitment to digital education and innovation in the education sector in Morocco. This new edition will strengthen the democratization of the use of new technologies and innovative skills in learning at school. It will also contribute to the training of the next generation of competent profiles in ICT.

In the presence of Mr. Chakib Benmoussa Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports and Mr. Hyun Joong Kim President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab (SEMAG), a meeting was organized to officially renew Samsung’s commitment and the Ministry to support the digitization of education in Morocco. During this meeting, the participants discussed the current challenges facing the education system and explored the ways in which the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program can contribute to its development. Both parties agreed to continue this collaboration by offering practical and innovative skills to young Moroccans to help them prepare for their future. The fourth edition of SIC will provide training to 240 teachers from the 12 regions of the kingdom, an average of 20 teachers per region.

Since 2019, more than 13,000 students have acquired coding skills thanks to the mobilization of 211 teacher trainers in 12 centers equipped with computers and televisions. The program has made it possible to organize a total of 1,001 workshops in order to strengthen the skills of young beneficiaries in the field of computers.

During this meeting, Mr. Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports recommended accelerating the generalization of the project so that all of the qualifying computer teachers benefit from the Samsung innovation Campus program and its technological innovations.

Mr. Hyun Joong Kim, President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab (SEMAG), said: “We have been collaborating with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports for several years. Our partnership continues to serve the national education system. Samsung Innovation Campus gives teachers from different regions of the kingdom access to the latest trends in new information technologies. This fourth edition reaffirms Samsung’s position as an actor working for the development of the national education system.”

As a reminder, Samsung Innovation Campus is a program that falls within the framework of Samsung’s international corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, which aims to offer young people around the world the opportunity to become familiar with key technologies while preparing them to better career opportunities.

Teachers and students will be better equipped to face the challenges of the ever-changing digital world. The training organized by Samsung Innovation Campus will help stimulate creativity and innovation among young people in the kingdom, enabling them to become key players in the digital transformation.
