Sam Waterston to reprise role of Jack McCoy in 21st season of “New York Police Judiciaire”

Big news for fans of New York Judicial Police : one of the stars of the program is going to make a comeback. For the 21st season of the cult series, Sam Waterston will return as prosecutor Jack McCoy, producer Dick Wolf announced on his site.

“Very few casting announcements have given me so much pleasure. From day one Sam has had the perfect knack for making Jack McCoy a character who reflects and expands our ability to understand the law. He’s the ultimate conscience of the show and I can’t wait to see him emulate the career of New York Attorney Robert Morgenthau, who served until the age of 90. The return of Sam and Anthony [Anderson] shows that the 21st season is just a continuation of what we told at the end of the last season, ”said the producer.

Anthony Anderson will reprise his role as Kevin Bernard, a New York Police Inspector.

Unexpected return

New York Judicial Police was canceled in 2010, but successful producer Dick Wolf also from the franchise Chicago (Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med), was able to convince NBC to resume the thread of the cult program.

This new season of the series known as Law and Order in the United States (and which has given rise to an incredible number of spin-offs), will also see new actors. Jeffrey Donovan, Hugh Dancy, Camryn Manheim and Odelya Halevi will join the cast.

Sam Waterston remains one of the favorite cast of fans of the show. The star joined the cast of New York Judicial Police in its 5th season, in 1994, and it remained on the bill until the 17th. At 81, he continues to be extremely prolific and has been seen in The Newsroom or in Grace and Frankie on netflix
