LVM-Versicherung becomes the new owner of the Karstadt property on Salzstrasse. In the summer, the property will be owned by LVM from Signa Real Estate. Nothing will change for the department store, the lease with Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof will continue to run for the long term. The purchase of the property is a clear commitment to the home town of the insurer: “We are convinced of the attractiveness of the Münster location and of the property’s sustainable inner-city location. With the investment, we not only invest our members’ contributions long-term, crisis-proof and profitable, but can at the same time make a contribution to a permanently lively and inviting city center, ”explains LVM CFO Ludger Grothues. The insurance will keep the site permanently in possession. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The city of Münster also welcomes the transaction: “LVM’s investment is good news because it shows that the company is convinced of the quality and potential of the Münster city center,” said Mayor Markus Lewe about the new developments. The department store has a rental area of around 22,000 square meters.
