Algerian were sentenced on Monday evening to appeal to 15 years in prison by a military court for conspiracy against the army and the state, we learned from a judicial source.

“Saïd Bouteflika, General (Athmane) Tartag and General (Mohamed Lamine) Mediene have had 15 years in prison. The first verdict has been confirmed, “said Boudjemaâ Guechir, lawyer for the fourth co-accused in this trial, Louisa Hanoune, secretary general of the Workers’ Party (PT, Trotskyist).

The latter, sentenced at first instance to 15 years’ imprisonment, saw her sentence reduced to three years in prison, including nine months firm, and “will be released,” said Guechir.
