Saguenay: a vandalized park dismays citizens

Facilities in Adrien-Gilbert Park, in the La Baie borough in Saguenay, have been the target of vandalism, to the dismay of people in the area.

A toilet block was the prey of vandals. Graffiti was drawn on the exterior of the building, doorknobs were torn off and a bathroom was completely ransacked. For the municipal councilor of the sector, Raynald Simard, this is unacceptable.

The Adrien-Gilbert park was recently renovated. Fortunately, the vandals did not attack the new equipment, but a building that is further on the ground.

Raynald Simard mentions that a solution will have to be found in order to further secure the sector. The addition of lighting or the installation of cameras are being considered.

For the citizens of the sector, these gestures are inexplicable and distressing. A file was opened with the Saguenay police. The investigation may help pinpoint the perpetrators of these acts.
