Thousands of evenings away from home. In beautiful and less beautiful theaters, important or not, baroque or essential, however full they are. But then Gigi Proietti, disappeared on his birthday, the former Swedish tour guide Sagitta Alter always came back to her. They met in 1962, he was 22 years old and started doing theater, that summer she decided not to return to Sweden. Since then they have always remained together, never a crisis that in a world of encounters like that of entertainment a small record. Always together, but a never married wife. The question was recurring for him: a question that everyone asks me. The truth is that me and Sagitta we don’t think about it anymore – he had told some time ago -. We didn’t particularly care about marriage when we were young, but we don’t rule it out. Who knows, maybe one day we will look at each other and we will want to take this step too, even if the most beautiful goal, that of building a united family, we have already managed to achieve it.

Gigi’s laziness
The family, or the two daughters, Susanna and Carlotta (42 and 37 years old) who both work in the entertainment world: the first as a costume designer and set designer, the second as a singer-songwriter and actress. My first memories are all the same – said Susanna (here the interview with the Corriere) -: me, my mother and my sister sitting in the front row, and at the end of the show a queue of adoring people who wanted to shake his hand. It bothered me, more than one I would have given a bite. It was strange because we were a very normal family inside the house, but when we went out we were surrounded by annoyances, from my point of view, who wanted the autograph. Carlotta instead hinted what the climate was in the house, Sagitta he had to struggle with his father’s laziness: One day Mom was at the door, dark in the face. “The school rang, I know they discovered you while you were smoking. And now you tell dad “. I went to my father. I knocked on the door of his study. “I have to confess something, dad.” He was leafing through the newspaper. He looked up. ‘Tell me, Daddy’s love, what is it?’ “Here, you see… This morning at school they caught me smoking a cigarette”. Surprised, he asked me: ‘And why can’t you smoke at school?’
