Sad, Form of Protest to the Government

Jakarta

The Kompas Research and Development Survey Institute released survey results where the majority of respondents agreed with the statement about the government being more focused on building IKN Nusantara compared to the economic conditions of the community. Democratic party (PD) views the survey results as a form of subtly public protest to the government.

“It’s sad. This is actually a subtle form of public protest against the government for the government’s neglect of the people’s economic conditions, with the difficulties and various problems that befall society today,” said Head of the Democratic Bakomstra Herzaky Mahendra Putra, Monday (4/25/2022).

“People don’t seem to know what else to do to warn the government to be more concerned with the difficulties that people are experiencing,” he added.

Herzaky said the government had let people face the scarcity and high cost of basic necessities and cooking oil. He also sees the government as busy with an agenda that does not have a good impact on society.

“For four months the people were left confused and suffered from the scarcity and high cost of basic necessities as well as the spike in the price of fuel oil and the increase in the prices of various daily necessities. Meanwhile, the government seems to be more busy with its own agenda, which does not have a direct impact on improving people’s economic conditions,” he said. .

In addition, Herzaky sees that the public sphere is currently filled with discussions regarding the relocation of the nation’s capital and the extension of the president’s term of office. In fact, he said, meeting the basic needs of the community is the government’s main task.

“The government seems to have lost its direction and is ignoring the condition of the people. It has lost its sensitivity. It doesn’t know which one should be prioritized. The government must introspect and rearrange its priorities,” concluded Herzaky.
