Ruud was one of the stars of the original Big Brother, but is not happy with the reboot. “This has nothing to do with Big Brother to make, ”he complains AD. “I don’t recognize it at all, so much has changed.” He doesn’t like the many assignments in the house. In the original version, they were given weekly assignments and could earn products, Ruud explains. “Now you see people doing all kinds of funny things to get noticed. Aware of the cameras, I think.”

According to Ruud, it is ‘unnatural behavior’ that the current candidates display, although he thinks that the viewer will eventually see through it. He therefore believes that the approach should be different. “We have seen during corona time that simplicity can be very beautiful. (…) It doesn’t have to be all that spectacular and sensational. Now everything is done to make it attractive. Very exaggerated and restless.” Ruud will certainly not watch every day, but promises to linger ‘every now and then while zapping’.
