‘Fourth Rutte cabinet virtually impassable’
According to political reporter Ron Fresen, Segers’ statements put the formation extra sharp. Fresen thinks that these statements make the small hole that was left for a fourth Rutte cabinet “virtually impassable”.
Rutte says today that he is militant and the VVD says it stands behind him. According to Fresen, the VVD and Rutte thus put the ball back to other parties “and so the situation remains that no one knows how to proceed now”.
Next Tuesday, parties in the House will meet with President Arib, after which there will probably be a debate.
