VVD leader Mark Rutte and D66 leader Sigrid Kaag are expected on Thursday for separate talks with scouts Jorritsma and Ollongren, a spokesman has announced.
In recent days, the scouts received the leaders of all 17 parties that will be in the House of Representatives from 31 March. Almost all of them pointed to the winners VVD and D66 to take the lead in the cabinet formation.
But those two parties are not aligned. Rutte first wants to investigate a coalition on the right with CDA and JA21, while Kaag feels more in favor of a cabinet with one or more left-wing parties.
Tomorrow, the exploratory talks will stop for a while, because Prime Minister Rutte must be present at the parliamentary debate about the corona measures.
