This is the list of stores that may remain open during lockdown | Coronavirus is spreading

Minister of Self-Employed, Self-Employed and SMEs David Clarinval (MR) has published a list on Facebook of stores that are allowed to remain open during the lockdown. There appear to be slightly more than during the first lockdown at the beginning of this year.

– Food stores, including night stores

– Newsagents and bookstores

– Gas stations and fuel suppliers

– Telecom shops (by appointment and not if they only sell accessories)

– Stores that sell emergency medical devices

– Do-it-yourself stores that mainly sell tools and building materials

– Garden centers, nurseries, florists and plant shops

– Retail stores selling fabrics and knitting and sewing equipment

– Wholesalers for professionals (but really only for professionals)

– Garages (but they may only offer breakdown services and repairs) and bicycle shops (only for maintenance and repairs)

– Independent service providers

According to Clarinval, this is “a preliminary list”. It only becomes definitive after the publication of the Ministerial Decree in the Official Gazette. The minister also emphasizes that shops that are not on the list may still deliver products to home or have reserved products collected from the shop.

To counter unfair competition, supermarkets will have to empty their shelves where products are offered that the closed stores also offer.
