Russia’s Use of DPRK Missiles to Attack Ukraine Draws Strong UN Response

The United States has received new information that Russia is receiving weapons from third countries, including the DPRK. These weapons are used by Russia to destroy Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure and kill civilians.

“The United States believes that Russia is using additional missiles from the DPRK to destroy more civilian infrastructure in Ukraine and kill Ukrainian civilians,” Kislitsa said.

According to Kislitsa, Russian troops launched missiles from North Korea into Ukraine in missile attacks on December 30 and January 2.

“According to the United States, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) recently transferred ballistic missile launchers and several dozen ballistic missiles to Russia. On December 30, 2023, Russian troops launched at least one of these DPRK ballistic missiles at Ukraine. On January 2, Russian troops launched several ballistic missiles from the DPRK at Ukraine, including as part of a night attack,” said Ukraine’s permanent representative to the UN.

UN response to Russian aggression against Ukraine

We previously wrote that Kislitsa wrote a letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres about the organization’s response to Russian aggression.

By the way, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned large-scale attacks by Russian occupiers in Ukraine on the night of December 29, 2023. The Secretary General’s statement said that “attacks on civilian targets and critical infrastructure, carried out in violation of humanitarian law, are unacceptable and must stop immediately.”
